Argentine Torinos
The Torino is very popular in Argentina, although only the true Torino fans know its relationship with the 65/66 Rambler American Hard Top. When they were made, the Torino was the only automobile designed in Argentina (although it was based on the American Hard Top ) All were manufactured in Argentinean.
The motor used was the Torando 6 cylinder in-line that powered the Kaiser Jeep Gladiator. This was manufactured in Argentina. This motor was revamped several times to improve its performance. This motor was available 1966-1973. In 1974 the motor was again revamped. The name was changed from Tornado to Torino. This motor was available 1974-1982. The last year of production of the automobile.
